iCleanse products work by exposing UV-C light to the item placed inside.

UV-C is very effective. Organisms absorb UV-C light when exposed, causing the cell walls to rupture and kills the organism. These cells can no longer replicate, meaning they can no longer disinfect.

Disinfection time ranges from 30 seconds to 120 seconds. 30 seconds is good for most pathogens like influenza, the common cold, human coronavirus,*, and MRSA. 90 to 120 seconds is good for sporicidal pathogens.

General Purpose Disinfection is described as a germicide intended to process non-critical medical devices and equipment surfaces. Germicide is an agent that kills germs, like pathogenic microorganisms.

UV-C light is a component of the electromagnetic spectrum that falls in the range of visible light and X-Rays. It has a wavelength range of 200 nm to 280 nm, which makes it useful for disinfection.

iCleanse should only be used on devices classified as non-critical. “Non-Critical” medical devices are devices that are in contact with unbroken skin only.

The lamps have a lifespan of 4,000 cycles.
