Healthcare Worker’s Devices Cause Nosocomial Infections

Nosocomial infections and transmission can be prevented by maintaining proper hand hygiene

Bacterial contamination was detected on 100% of phones in the study of HC worker phones

Both Gram Positive & Gram Negative bacteria were found

They achieved a significant reduction of contamination when using 70% isopropyl alcohol for 10 minutes

Strict hand hygiene and the disinfection of mobile phone practices must be introduced to prevent nosocomial infection

Excellent assertion/reinforcement of the prevalence and need for mobile device disinfection. While they showed significant reduction they had very few complete eliminations of bacteria types and an unreasonable period of time (10 minutes!) to accomplish it.
